Andrea Radrizzani has completed his takeover of Leeds United after acquiring the remains of Massimo Cellino's 50 percent stake, the Championship club have announced.
The Italian businessman bought 50 percent of the club from the controversial Cellino in January in a deal that included the option to take complete control at the end of the season.
And while Leeds failed in their bid for Premier League promotion, Radrizzani has activated the clause, bringing an end to Cellino's tumultuous time at Elland Road.
The takeover of Leeds United has been completed with Andrea Radrizzani assuming control
Cellino is quoted as saying: 'If he [Radrizzani] can survive working with me, he can survive anything.'
Radrizzani said in a statement: 'I am delighted to have the opportunity to become a custodian of this great football club.
'The heritage and history of Leeds United attracted me to the club and having spent time at games and at Thorp Arch, I can see that we are ready to move forward to the next level.
Radrizzani's Leeds takeover is complete with Massimo Cellino ending his tenure as chairman
'This is a long-term commitment, there is a lot of hard work ahead of us and I am aware of my responsibilities as owner of Leeds United.
'I can assure all supporters that everyone at this club will be doing all we can to build a successful team at Elland Road.'
Radrizzani will now look to implement his five-year plan at Elland Road in which he will seek to reestablish the club as a Premier League mainstay, as it was in the past.
Wanting to tie the best players and coaching staff down to long-term contracts, Garry Monk's position at the club is set to come under scrutiny after their poor form towards the end of the season saw their play-off chances dashed.
It is believed the club are set to activate a clause to extend Monk's contract, but he will be under increasing pressure to deliver promotion in the upcoming campaign.
