Euro 2016: Mario Gomez has been ruled out for the rest of Euros

Mario Gomez has been ruled out of the remainder of the Euro.

The striker was substituted in the quarter final tie against Italy yesterday.

Scan report today has revealed Mario has suffered a torn muscle.

According to the statement released by German football Association: "Another appearance for the striker is not an option."

Also, Germany midfielders Khedira and Schweinsteiger are doubtful for the semi final tie.

Germany coach, Joachim Low said: "I am especially sorry for Mario. He has produced strong performances in the Euros and helped the team a lot, not only with his goals."

"For us it means that we have to accept a new situation and find solutions. And we will do so."
