Payet didn't speak to his teammates from 8 weeks before he left West Ham - Sullivan

West Ham United co-owner David Sullivan has stated that Dimitri Payet did not speak to his team-mates for eight weeks before he left the club.

Recap that the French midfielder joined Marseille days ago for a fee said to be worth £25m.

"I think for the last six or eight weeks, he's not been talking to anybody in the squad," Sullivan told the BBC.

"He's gone to the corner of a room for his meals and isolated himself from everybody.

"Before that, he was bubbly and happy, shakes everyone's hand before the match.

"Either it was a tactic or something in his head had changed. The team wanted him out. The manager, with the greatest reluctance, wanted him out. And as much as we didn't want him out, you can't go against the consensus of the team and manager."

On negotiating the deal with Marseille:
"[Marseille] were very difficult to deal with," he added. "They're lucky we accepted the £25m. I think he's worth more than that. The player's surrendered his January wages, which is another four or five hundred thousand so you get that there.

"There's a little bit of dignity we got with that. That was a deal breaker to us. Our attitude was 'you've refused to play' - why should you get paid?"

"There are 2 many people on here who know the truth about my marriage, from @Tund3_ to
@eggheader . I endured it hoping for peace but... The spouse who collects child support above what the law stipulates but states otherwise in public just because men are bad.

Or the numerous false financial claims which I have to come to know about. The whole going public was to shut me down from speaking, now I am past that. Spent the last 13 months going from police to courts.

I have never been arrested or detained for a minute, I dropped charges against the spouse to not have to do this. Yet I am falsely accused. On one of those days of my physical abuse, I did have audio recordings in the house in case I did not make it. Someone would know how I died.

Those audios will be shortly on my YouTube channel. I am back to the courts but this time I won't be holding back. Gone me are the days I almost stepped in front of the bus to end it or dread going hom after work cos of what I was going through at home.

Where do I start from? Was it the mother in law who slapped me 18 times or the spouse who broke a bottle on me or the days I slumped at home. I realise that it would have just been Rosanwo is a nice guy if I had passed on. 1 min silence and live goes on.

Or the days when I had to call for help, Pastor to come and save me from the hands of the woman I claim to love. At the end of the day, the truth will prevail. I will no longer enable my abuser to use this space..

I don't have a marriage but I have 2 sons, survived DV & I am still breathing. Now time to put all the numerous allegations to rest. When my sons are of age, if God does not spare me long life, they will be able to read this and the court papers. Marriages fail however one does not have to fail with it."

"Let me educate the illiterate": Black Face tells 2Face, blast his protest against FG

Nigerian musician Black Face Naija has his out at his former colleague 2 Face Idibia.

Recap that 2 Face had revealed his intention to stage a protest against Buhari led administration on February 5th.

He went on instagram to school 2 Face about some notable achievements of the president including the bail out funds.

In his words: " #NATIONWIDE
#PROTESTS
LETS EDUCATE THE ILLITERATE AS HE LEADS THE PROTEST. I read Tuface Idibia's verbal tirade in Vanguard in which he said he will be leading a protest against Buhari on the 5th of February for among other things not paying salaries of civil servants.
I think he needs to be educated about the efforts of the Buhari administration: So far Buhari has released three bail out funds to the 36 states in Nigeria totalling over N1.5 trillion in the last 18 months.
Apart from this another trillion was released as Paris Club refund money to the 36 states. Buhari emphasized the need for the states to prioritize the payment of salaries of workers and pensions of pensioners as these states receive the money.
Unfortunately, instead of some states to use the funds to pay off civil servants and pensioners salary and pension arrears they chose to loot the funds. A governor of one of the South South states siphoned N3b of the funds using his mistress as a front and now the mistress has run away with the funds. Tuface Idibia you can now see why Nigerians are suspicious of the motive and source of the funds for the protest you want to embark on. Why didn't you lead a protest against these governors who mismanaged the Buhari bail out funds and the Paris Club refund money? Why did you not protest against GEJ's looting of N51 trillion naira and the Godswill Akpabio alleged looting of over N1 trillion naira from the Akwa Ibom state treasury for which he is being prosecuted by the EFCC? Why didn't you protest Akpabio's alleged corrupting of a Supreme Court justice who is currently being tried for corrupt practices on the bench? Is it because you are a corruption apologist? Is it because you are the agent of corruption fighting back? Is it because you are part of desperate plot to poison the hearts and minds against a fantastically incorruptible President who fights the corrupt no matter whose ox is gored? We your fans want to assure you that if you go ahead with this protest we will reevaluate our support for you and it may be downhill for you afterwards. Rethink your actions and reflect deeply. Nollywood actress cries out after brutality by a soldier

One Jewel Infinity who was hospitalized, as cried for help following a bbeatig from an army officer in Rivers State.

She went on her social media platform and wrote: "Please my good people, I'm sincerely calling out for justice against violence. I am hospitalized right now. I'm in serious pain and agony; in between life and death.I boarded a siena vehicle leaving PortHarcourt for Onitsha. We were pulled over by some soldiers. .

One of them, SULAIMAN OLAMILEKAN, began to molest me. He accused me of discussing him, where I was only having a friendly debate with the lady beside me. I explained to him, but he ignored me and demanded I disembark, kneel down and apologise to him.

I told him I did nothing wrong to apologise. He started hitting me with a stick. The other soldiers confiscated and broke my phone, to prevent me from taking pictures. When I told them that I'd no longer proceed with the journey, they refused.

The driver drove off to some distance away from there, and I alighted and returned to Portharcourt and went straight to the Barracks to report him. His superiors pleaded that I shouldn't take the case any further; that he'd be remanded for one month, which i feel is not enough justice.

He was summoned and he confessed that i didn't do anything to have warranted his cruel action, that he was in a very bad mood. He begged me to forgive him and not take things seriously. Right now i am bedridden.

The doctor said I'm running temperature due to my high blood pressure. I am in serious pain and rendered partially immoveable. His facebook I.D is Sulaiman Olamilekan.

Please help me reach out to anybody in authority, who can fight this violence. Violence is indeed a cankerworm that has eaten us deep into every fabric of the Nigerian Army Force. Soldiers fight and protect their own, not to destroy the innocent civilians."

Police arrest publisher of ‘Biafra Times’, says He's innocent

The Nigeria Police arrested the publisher of the Biafran Times Magazine.

Peter Eke, 30, was arrested at Somolu area of Lagos State alongside staff of his publishing firm, Azeez Ayoola, 30, Rafiu Qudus, 25, Adewunmi Tope, 22, Kunle Olushola, 22 and Akeem Adebakin, 49.

Others are Ayodeji Gbemi, 30, Akeem Bisiriyu, 34, and Shakiru Folohunsho, 25.

The state Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, paraded the publisher and staff of the printing company before newsmen at the Command Headquarters, Ikeja on Monday, January 30th.

He described the publication as “seditious” and could bring disharmony and chaos in the state.

Owoseni disclosed that the police would invoke the law on anyone who is playing an ethnic tune and working against unity.

Eke said that he was not aware that publishing the Biafran Times magazine in the state was an offence.

He said: “I have published some sporting papers before because of low patronage; I decided to publish the Biafran Times because I knew Igbo people who reside in Lagos would buy it. I am only doing it to put food on my table.

I love my country and I love my president. My intention is not to fight my country; I just want to pass out information to those who have no access to the Internet. I usually go on the Internet to source for information and publish.

“I decided to specialise on Biafra Times when I discovered it is always a sell-out. We usually sell between 6,000 and 7,000 copies weekly because of the name. Each copy, according to him, goes for N100 nationwide.”

Fatai Owoseni, police commissioner, disclosed that 515 copies of the “offending” newspaper were recovered during a raid on the printing press of the firm located in the Shomolu area of Lagos.

“This is an offence punishable under the Criminal Law of Lagos state," he said.

He said the suspects will be charged to court as soon as detectives finished interrogating them.

Why I kidnapped my boss' 8-year-old son – Apprentice

Chimobi Sylvester, an apprentice confessed to the police in Lagos how he kidnapped his master’s eight-year-old son.

According to his confession, he committed the crime because of his refusal of his boss to pay him his settlement after working for him for four years.

The 23-year-old made this statement after he was arrested and paraded at the command headquarters, Ikeja alongside his accomplice, Emmanuel Blessing, 20.

He said: “I worked as a sales boy and apprentice for him but after spending four years, when it was time for him to settle me, he asked me to go back to village to do something else.

After I had spent two months in the village, I came back to Lagos to kidnap his son with the hope that through the kidnapping, I would be able to get my money back from him. I lived with him so I know he is not always at home.

I relied on that and contacted one of my friends, Emmanuel Blessing and we went to his house last week Thursday. We lured his son and took him away with ease because he knows me very well.

I took the boy to the apartment given to me by the hotel management where I worked at Oyingbo area, and locked him up in the room. While in our captivity, Blessing contacted my boss and informed him that his son had been kidnapped and we demanded for ransom of N5million.

After the man agreed to pay the N5 million ransom, I went to the bank with a friend to withdraw the money not knowing that anti-kidnapping policemen were around and we were arrested.”

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Police Command, Mr. Fatai Owoseni, urged businessmen who bring young boys to work or learn a trade to fulfill their part of the bargain with their apprentice

He said the suspects would be charged to court after completion of investigation in the case.

He ended saying the boy has reunited with his family.

CPS accused of failing domestic violence victims after Nigerian woman loses her eye in attack

According to the Guardian, one woman became permanently blind in one eye after her violent fiance criticised Crown Prosecution Service,CPS, U.K, because her case was initially dropped despite “overwhelming evidence” of the cause of her injuries.

The victim, Akorede Odutayo was being punched repeatedly in the face by her lover when she stained his clothes with icing after presenting him with a birthday cake.

According to Police from the London borough that worked on the case, they said that it is just one in a string of domestic abuse offences they had to appeal against to get through the courts after the CPS initially declined to press charges.

The suspect, Ibrahim Akanbi was found guilty of grievous bodily harm on his partner, on December 2016, at Woolwich crown court in London, he was sentenced to three years in prison.

The suspect would have escaped conviction if the police had not appealed against a decision by the CPS last year March.

Currently,Odutayo, 23 years old, has a two-year-old son with Akanbi, has decided to speak out because she was worried other victims are not getting the justice that they deserve.

She said: “I feel I was completely failed by the CPS. If the police hadn’t appealed he could have got away with it despite the blatant evidence.”

Odutayo narrated that she endured a “painful waiting game” to see her ex husband brought to justice after the attack on 11 January 2015, Akanbi’s birthday.

“He started chucking things at me and headbutted me, cutting his head on my tooth. He then started punching me repeatedly until my face went numb. My eye was full of blood."

Doctors told Odutayo that they were unable to save the sight in her eye.

She said: “I’ve lost my eye and then I find out they weren’t even going to charge him. He was out there going on holiday and enjoying his life while I was going through hell.”
