Today, Friday July 29, The Independent National Electoral commission, INEC, declared the past speaker of Imo State House of Assembly and candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC,Chief Benjamin Uwajumogu has the winner of the re-run election.
The election which was re-run on Saturday in Owerri West State constituency.
According to the INEC, the inconclusive re run was July 23rd.
The INEC returning officer for the election, professor Arinze Agbogu declared the winner Chief Benjamin with 56,076 votes and senator Athan Achonu came close with of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, with 43,815 votes.
