360 GP has gathered that the Governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose has signed Open Grazing Prohibition Bill into law.
The governor put pen to paper to sign the law in the presence of over 3,000 Traditional Chiefs in the state.
According to the law, the herdsmen are forbidden from carrying arms. They are also prohibited from grazing their cattle in areas that are not designated for grazing.
If this law is violated, the law therefore prescribes six months imprisonment without option of fine.
And finally any herdsman found with arms will be charged with terrorism.
