RIO 2016: Saviour Godwin leaves Dream Team VI Camp to join club

Dream Team VI player, Saviour Godwin,19, has pleaded with coach Samson Siasia to release him to join his Belgian club, KV Oostende,in their pre season.

This has automatically reduced the U-23 team into 20 players.

The media officer of the Dream Team VI, Timi Ebikagboro, told Super Sports that William Troost-Ekong and Aminu Umar will replace the void left by Saviour.

“The two players will be joining us very soon,” he said.

“We will be leaving Atlanta (United States) by 12:30pm local time on Tuesday for Brazil.

“The Olympics is very serious business and we know Nigerians have very big expectations as far as this team is concerned.

“We will do all we can to make the country proud.”
