According to Punch report, the United States of America warned it's citizens from traveling to some states in Nigeria due to security which is unstable in the region.
It further stressed that Adamawa, Borno, and Yobe states, should be avoided as these three states cannot provide security assistance to the US citizens.
Bauchi, Bayelsa, Delta, Edo, Gombe, Imo, Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Kogi, Niger, Plateau, Rivers, Sokoto, and Zamfara were also listed as the remaining 17 states prominent for kidnappings, robberies.

According to A statement by the Department: “Based on safety and security risk assessments, the Embassy maintains restrictions for travel by US officials to the states listed above; officials must receive advance clearance by the US Mission for any travel to those states."
