Boxer, Mikel Towel dies after been hurt during bout

Scottish boxer Mike Towell has passed on in the hospital after being seriously beaten in a fight.25 years old boxer was stretched out from the ring following a fifth-round loss to his Welsh opponent, Dale Evans in a St Andrews Sporting Club fight at a Glasgow hotel days ago.

The Dundee born was rushed to the city’s Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in an ambulance and he was confirmed dead in the early hours of Saturday by his management.

St Andrews Sporting Club wrote on Twitter, “Within the last hour Mike Towell passed away — he will always be in our hearts#RIPIronMike.”

His partner, Chloe Ross, wrote on Facebook, “I’m absolutely heartbroken to say my annoying best friend passed away tonight at 11.02 very peacefully.”

The boxing trainer Shane McGuigan confirmed as he tweeted, “Heartbreaking news that Mike Towell has lost his life. May he rest in peace, thoughts go out to his loved ones.#RIP”

 British promoter Eddie Hearn, added, “Absolutely devastated by the passing of Mike Towell — all of our thoughts with his friends and family at this time.”
