On Friday, the Enugu state governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi honoured Enugu-born Paralympian, Mrs. Lucy Ejike, who smashed the world record to win a gold medal at the recent Paralympics in Rio De Janerio, Brazil.
Recall that Lucy Ejike, shattered the Paralympic and world record three successive times by winning gold with a lift of 142kg.
The governor rewarded her with the sum of One million naira and a plot of land in Enugu.
Ejike first broke the Paralympic record after she lifted 136kg before subsequently added lifts of 138kg and 142kg to seal the world record and won the third gold medal for Nigeria.
