Fifa President Expresses Sadness over plane crash which claimed 75 lives

The president of world football governing body, FIFA Gianni Infantino has described the plane crashed of Brazilian club Chapecoense, which killed 75 people and left over few injured as "very, very sad day for football".


Meanwhile, CONMEBOL has announced  suspension of all its activities until further notice.

Speaking on behalf of Fifa, He said: "This is a very, very sad day for football.

"We are so sorry to hear about the airplane crash in Colombia, it is shocking and tragic news. At this difficult time our thoughts are with the victims, their families and friends.

"FIFA would like to extend its most heartfelt condolences to the fans of Chapecoense, the football community and media organisations concerned in Brazil."
