Popular Gospel Singer Yinka Ayefele Attacked In Ado Ekiti

kiti state police have arraigned three men before a Chief Magistrates court sitting in Ado Ekiti for allegedly attacking popular gospel artist, Yinka Ayefele.
360 GP learnt that the accused were Kolade Owolabi, 35years, Tope Olorunfemi 22years, and Isiaka Yusuf 20years.


The court heard that the accused along with other suspects damaged the windscreen of a vehicle belonging to Ayefele, at about 7.30pm on Thursday, October 27, at the Ewi’s palace in the state, Punch reported.


Police prosecutor, Sergeant Bankole Olasunkanmi, stated  that the singer was at the palace to entertain the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, atthe behest of the EkitiState Government.


According to Punch Reports, the Oba was reportedly visiting for the first since his coronation when the hoodlums attacked Ayefele and his band.


According to Olasunkanmi, “The offence contravened Section 451 of the Criminal Code, Cap C16, Vol 1, Law of Ekiti State.”The accused pleaded not guilty to the accusations levelled against them, while their counsel, Mr Gabriel Oladimeji, asked the court to grant them bail on thepremise that the would not jump bail.


The prosecutor applied for a short date for prosecution which would allow him time to study the case file and put together witnesses.


Chief Magistrate, Idowu Ayenimo, admitted that the accused to bail in the sum of N50,000, with one surety each in like sum before adjourning the case until November 8, 2016, for further hearing.
