41 years old sales agent defrauds her employer N2.4m, to set up a hair shop


According to The Punch, one Rashidat Folawiyo, 41 was arrested for defrauding one Lagos-based food company of N2.4m.


Folawiyo was the company’s major distributor in Ondo State, 360 GP learnt.


It all came to an end in August 2016, when she failed to remit the proceeds of some goods said to be worth over N2.4m.


The company reportedly handed over a van and food goods worth N6m to Folawiyo.

She was supposed to remitte outstanding proceed of sale amounting to N2,407,270, but was reported to have flee

The Managing Director of the company, Segun Olaye, said that Folawiyo was an employee of the company until she was rewarded with a distributorship role.


She was given an operational vehicle and was getting N6m worth of products on credit every month, the MD claims.


But the Detectives from the SCID, who has been hunting Folawiyo, were able to recover the operational van from the suspects


Police go hold of the suspect at one hair extension store she had set up in Ijapo area of Akure, Ondo State and was transported her back to Lagos.


Although, She pleaded to be employed back in the company so she would be able to pay back at N20,000 every month.


She has been charged by a Chief Magistrate’s Court, Yaba on 3 counts of theft, conspiracy to commit felony and fraud.


Folawiyo has been remanded in the custody of the Kirikiri Prison, Lagos, custody pending when she would meet her bail conditions.
