Man breaks the leg of his landlady for demanding the 20 months rent
According to PM Express, Obidi Ibeagha, 44, was arrested by Lagos State police for allegedly physically abusing his landlady, Mrs Idayat Aderibigbe, for demanding his 20 months rent arrears.
The landlady suffered a broken leg during the abuse.
The tenant was charged before a Lagos court for allegedly assaulting and he's been remanded in prison custody for being unable to meet the N50,000 bail condition.
The happened on 13 January 2017 at Cele Bus-stop in Egbe Ikotun, 360 GP gathered.
The landlord passed on last year and the widow, Ibeagha hoped the tenant would not pay the rent arrears again, because her husband, the person who rented out the three bedroom apartment had died.
He was angry when Mrs. Aderibigbe started demanding for the rent.
He had earlier said he wanted to move out and as such he would not pay the arrears cause she was not his landlord at that period he was owing the house rent.
But the landlady insisted on him paying the arrears before parking out, he attacked her.
He was arrested and charged with assault and occasional harm under the Criminal code.
