
Earlier today, there was crowd unrest in Osogbo, Osun State as students of Osun State (UNIOSUN) staged a protest.
It was learnt that the reason behind the protest was due to the shooting of 2 students of the university, identified as Kazeem Adesola and Ibrahim Ajao by policemen.
According to sources, the students were playing football at around Oke-Baale after the policemen came without their uniform and accused some of the students of internet fraud," Yahoo-Yahoo"
One of the student who was at the scene when the incident happened, disclosed that the policemen were always harassing and exploiting the students but after the students refused the harassment led to the shooting.
“We were playing football when they came. They always come like that to arrest students here. They would say that we are involved in Yahoo-Yahoo and they would seize our laptops and phones.
They would collect money on the pretext of bail. But we resisted them on this last one. Within a twinkle of an eye, the policemen started shooting. When the policemen started shooting, we ran away but the bullet hit two of us and they were rushed to hospital.
The bullet hit one near his stomach and the bullet hit the second one in his mouth”.
The Commissioner of police in Osun, Mr Fimihan Adeoye, confirmed the incident and disclosed that the policemen have already been arrested and detained.
He also assured they would face the wrath of the law.
