One Olusoji Thompson has been arrested by the Ondo State Police Command for allegedly killing his 86 years old father, High Chief Clifford Olumekun.
The suspect allegedly killed his father with an axe, at No 1, Okeraye Street, Idepe in Okitipupa, Ondo State.
According to the state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Femi Joseph, disclosed that the suspect has been detained at the State Criminal Investigative Department of the command for investigation.
He said the reason the suspect’s action is not clear.
This sad tale happened on January 2, 2017.
A source described that immediately after killing his father, the suspect allegedly parked the deceased body, was wrapped it in a cloth and cleaned the blood stains in the room so as not to give room for suspicion that he (deceased) was murdered.
He (the suspect) was alleged to have ran away from the town after committing the crime.
The source added that the family immediately consulted the oracle to expose the killer but the suspect who had allegedly ghost away from the town earlier, suddenly showed up and confessed to the crime.
