Judge tells governors to Order killing of death row prisoners

Chief Judge of Delta State, Marshal Umukoro, has told the state governors to sign the death warrant of 1,600 inmates who are on death sentence in order to decongest the prisons in state.

According to him, the statistics from the National Human Rights Commission, NHRC,has pointed that no fewer than 1,612 inmates are on death sentence in Nigeria prisons.

The chief judge added that the signing the death warrant would reduce prison congestion.
