According to reports gathered from National Helm have it that Abak Road in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State on July 19 was under siege as one of the banks was attacked by men of the underworld.
As at the time of filing this report, one woman has already been shot by the armed robbers.
The young woman was reportedly hit by a stray bullet, as armed robbers attacked Sterling bank.
The incident occurred at about 4.30pm with the gunmen shooting sporadically to scare away passers-by.
It is not clear yet whether the robbers were successful in carting away money.
The incident came few hours after Mr. Zubairu Muazu assumed duty as the new Commisoner of Police in Akwa Ibom State.
Rapid response officers and men of the NPF have reportedly arrived the scene and the place was locked down
